Good morning Junction 13-ers!

What a whirlwind six months it has been! I have been collating all of the best photos from the bar and will be doing something special for the end of the year with them.

To think this time last year, the idea of a bar in the centre of town was merely that, just a pipe dream in our minds, to see it evolve and develop is truly humbling. To hear all the positive comments from our friends and customers is again totally overwhelming, as it is always a worry that the idea in your own head will not be what the general public like. We are eternally grateful for all the nice comments and the people who make Junction 13 what it is. We are on the first step of hopefully a long road and we couldn't have done it without the beautiful people of Folkestone. We are over the moon that people embraced something different: a community bar that embraces all of the positives of the town and promotes them. That endeavours to be as eco-friendly as possible, from our A+ energy-rated TVs, to our bamboo toilet paper, to our Smart dispense beer system ( that is not only the most energy efficient beer distribution system on the market, it produces outstanding quality beer!) Thanks to each and every one of you for the support you have shown us. We will continue to work hard to ensure we do new, cutting edge and exciting things and not just the tried and tested pub routines. Also, we are open to suggestions about how to make Junction 13 better, so do tell us (nicely of course!)

One such suggestion,is to do food. Now, we would love to and have tried. However, with our limited space, we feel it is not feasible. Those who come regularly know that we only do things if we can quality assure them and we do not want to do something for profit if it does not profit our customers. also with other quality independent foody-pubs such as The Bouverie Tap around the corner, we want to focus on what we do best; premium drinks and quality vibe.

That said, the exciting BREAKING NEWS, is that we will be opening a new venue in Folkestone, that will obviously carry the same Junction 13 quality standards, BUT, will have the necessaries to serve quality, affordable food! Happy days! See we listen to you guys....
so watch this space!!

Finally, get yourselves up the Junction asap and reserve your seat for the next two weeks, as things are about to get seriously fun and festive!!

This starts with the Christmas Karaoke tonight to ease us in and get us ready for the onslaught of festivities to come! Next Thursday is the final quiz of the year, our Christmas Quiz, hosted by yours truly and looks set to be a ding-dong battle for team of the year! Who couldn't use a little cash injection before the Xmas period kicks in, eh?

Then we are into the first ever Junction 13 music festival - The Three Days Of Christmas!!!! This starts with the awesome Gumboots at 6pm on Friday 21st December, get your seats early!!

On Saturday 22nd, Vikki brings her magical vocals for a festive sing-along, where you can choose the songs while having a cheeky boogie too.

To close the festival, Sand and Stone headline our Christmas party on Sunday 23rd December. Christmas jumpers, mince pies, mulled wine...not to mention Ab and Tom's very own Christmas ditty... we cannot wait!!!

If that wasn't enough, this leads us into Christmas eve and our party late into the early hours.

We will also be opening from 12-3 on Christmas Day where we welcome...well anyone who wants to share in the festivities with us. If you are alone or know someone who is, let them know that Junction 13 is your community bar and they are welcome! Bring friends and family for that pre-dinner aperitif and to share the christmas positivity.

I am too excited about all these bits, so will leave it there for now, but in the words of Chris Rea, 'I cant wait to see those faces...' new and old, friends and new friends, as we move into the most exciting and festive time of the year!

Love to all.
